Habitat

Living in rivers, floodplain, and swamps and in areas connected to rivers which when flooded will be inundated and fish will live in it.

Distribution

This fish is found in Indonesia, with the distribution area in Sumatra and Kalimantan.

Food

This fish is a type of carnivorous fish which preys on insects, small fish, and shrimp as food.

Reproduction

It spawns throughout the year with peak spawning period at the beginning of the rainy season. The fecundity of serandang fish ranges from 1,223-4,290 eggs.
