dc.descriptionHabitat The fish lives in fresh water, bethopelagic with calm, shallow currents, and lots of aquatic plants, swamps, lakes, ditches, rice fields, and slow water flow. It can live in waters with pH ranging from 4-9 and the temperature is 220C-280C. Distribution This fish is naturally (natively) found in Cambodia, Laos, Viet Nam, and Thailand. It is an introduce fish in Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Sri lanka, New Caledonia, Colombia, and Papua New Gunea. The distribution area in Indonesia is in Sumatra, Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Papua, and Java. Food It is included in type of omnivorous fish whose food includes mosses, aquatic plants, small animals that fit the size of their mouths. Reproduction It begins to breed at the age of 6 - 8 months, with a weight ranging from 95 - 120 g and a total length of more than 8 - 21 cm. Spawning occurs in the rainy season and in nests in the form of bubbles (foam) that have been prepared beforehand.en
