Description
Habitat

Living in rivers, lakes, floodplain, , peat swamps, and coastal areas.

Distribution

This species can be found in Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. The distribution area in Indonesia is in Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Bangka Belitung.

Food

This fish is an omnivorous fish species with a main diet of algae, aquatic plants, submerged land plants, fruit, seeds, aquatic insects and crustaceans.

Reproduction

The size of the first mature gonads is at a size of 13 cm. The spawning pattern is synchronous, i.e. releasing all the eggs at the time of spawning.
