Description
The type of fishing gear that is also used by fishers in river and swamp areas is the longlines, a fishing gear made of nylon string and a hook. The classification code is ISSCFG 09.5.0, which is the type of fishing gear using l o n g s t r i n g s ( l o n g l i n e ) .

In one unit, the longline consists of several hooks attached to the main nylon rope. The size of the hook and nylon line depends on the type of fish targeted. The hook is first strung on a small wooden or nylon rope before being attached to the main nylon rope so that it does not come off easily when used and when rolled up before being stored after use. Floats can also be used or simply by tying it to a stick.

It's operated in a watershed with slow current. Floats are used so that the fishing gear does not sink. A ballast is attached to one end of the tool so that it does not float away. The bait used is worms, pieces of fish, shrimp, or pieces of burnt coconut. Fishing gear operations are carried out in the morning and catch results are checked during the day. If installed at night, the catch will be checked in the morning. Most of the fish caught are carnivorous.
