Abstract
To strengthen the fisheries business - based village autonomy, the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Republic of Indonesia (MMAF), through the Agency for Marine and Fisheries Research and Human Resources (AMAFRAD), developed the Smart Fisheries Village (SFV). SMART refers to Sustainability, Modernization, Acceleration, and Technology. SFV is a concept for the development of a fisheries village and work unit based on the application of superior seeds, information and communication technology, appropriate management, sustainability, and economic growth in conjunction with the aquaculture village program and Innovation Village/ Partner Village. SFV is also a model for the integrated development of a smart fisheries village through collaboration with numerous associated stakeholders, including the central and regional governments, academia, industry, and the community. The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Republic of Indonesia, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, echoes SFV as a means of accelerating the development of aquaculture villages based on local wisdom.
